I started my career in parking at Central Parking System in Nashville as the city Operations Manager. I later moved to Charleston, WV, as the city GM for CPC. In 2000, I left Central for a position as the Operations Section Chief in the Division of Traffic & Parking for Montgomery County, MD. I had a variety of titles through a number of reorganizations to become the Chief of the Division of Parking in the Department of Transportation for the county. I retired from that position in 2015. I un-retired in December 2016 and took a position as the first Parking Manager for the City of Charlottesville. I think my experience has provided me with multiple perspectives on the industry. I have been an IPMI member since 2000 and was one of the first 100 CAPPs, although my certification lapsed during my brief retirement.
